Thank you for visiting the New Media Storytelling blog, by Fusionspark Media.
In 1999, Fusionspark Media was founded by myself, and my brother, Kevin Sparkman. We believed, at that time, that the Internet would become the ultimate channel for the use of inspiring multimedia storytelling as a component of communications efforts designed to increase awareness about important issues related to the environment, health and society.
We launched our company when we succeeded in getting Seiko Epson, in Japan, to sponsor our original project, One World Journeys. Produced between 2000, and early 2002, the original series of stories we created continue to inspire and inform the site’s visitors today.
Early on, through our experience with One World Journeys, we recognized the potential of well-produced content to draw in the internet audience, and began to evangelize the creation of inspiring and informative web-based content as a communications strategy to whomever would listen. Admittedly, in a world where websites have often been viewed as little more than online brochures, investing in quality content hasn’t always been an easy concept to sell.
Today, however, there’s a lot of buzz about “Content Marketing” and “Inbound Marketing,” the core principles of which we have been advocating for 10 years now. It’s gratifying to not only see that there are actually terms that describe these principles, but that these terms are gaining traction. We are convinced that Content Marketing and Inbound Marketing are key facets of successful integrated marketing communications initiatives and campaigns.
We continue, while developing content rich projects for clients, to plan and develop our own Fusionspark.com web presence. In the meantime, we’ll continue to share what we’ve learned over the years about Content Marketing and Inbound Marketing through our blog.
Through our blog we plan to explore all aspects of what inspiring storytelling really means in the context of Content and Inbound Marketing concepts, how it functions as the hub of a marketing communications strategy and how its application can be used by a range of enterprises to inspire, inform and influence the online audience.
